Perhaps the neatest bracket ever made for the 420? This bracket has been devloped in conjunction with Rob Wilson from North sails, and used by a number of teams, including the Stanley sisters.
The bracket has been designed around the ability to back chock the mast imparting pre bend in light winds and help support the mast on windy 3 sail reaches. It pivots on the back of the mast gate, pivoting open to allow the mast to come back out of the mast gate. Yet when shut it locks , locating on to its own pin to allow load to be applied across the back on the gate.
The bracket requires fitting, including drilling holes. For it to work to its optimum the jib hayard will need to be long enough such that the purchase system will operate below the mast gate. We do have a hollow chock mould which allows the purchase system to pass inside but this only works on upright rake settings.
The bracket will fit a tacktic compass and will also have room for a watch to be mounted below the compass.
